AI/ML Engineer – Full Stack Generative AI & RAG Systems

About the AI/ML Engineer Role
The AI/ML Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end development and integration of AI-enabled applications. This includes everything from responsive user interfaces and dashboards to backend microservices, AI model integration, data pipelines, and cloud or on-premises deployment.
Professionals in this role typically have 4–8 years of experience and at least 3 years of hands-on exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), or conversational AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack AI/ML-powered web applications with responsive and accessible UI.
- Build secure and scalable backend services using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) and/or Node.js.
- Integrate RAG-based chatbots with self-correction, tool calling, confidence scoring, and quality assurance.
- Enable multimodal AI capabilities supporting text, image, and audio inputs.
- Design and manage data pipelines for document ingestion, embeddings, storage, and retrieval.
- Optimize AI pipelines for accuracy, chunking strategies, context handling, and low-latency responses.
- Deploy and monitor applications across cloud and on-premises environments using Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement strong security, compliance, and governance controls aligned with government IT standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies and best engineering practices.
Full Stack & AI/ML Expertise Required
This role demands a rare combination of full stack engineering and advanced AI/ML integration skills. Engineers must be equally comfortable building modern user interfaces and integrating complex AI pipelines.
Core Technical Skills
- Strong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Backend expertise with RESTful APIs, microservices, and asynchronous programming.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, context management, and response control.
- Deep understanding of vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search.
- Database experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Cloud exposure across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
- Containerization using Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes.
Security, Compliance & Governance
AI/ML Engineers working on government or regulated platforms must strictly adhere to security, data privacy, and compliance standards. This includes:
- Authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Data encryption and API protection
- OWASP secure coding practices
- WCAG accessibility compliance
- Multilingual and inclusive design
Experience in e-governance, regulatory, environmental, or GIS-enabled AI systems is considered a strong advantage.
Educational Qualification
Applicants should hold a B.E / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering from a recognized institution, with a solid academic background.
